I believe the youth is the backbone of our country's progress and I have always worked towards their overall development. Apart from providing training and employment in traditional careers I have always encouraged active youth participation in politics. On several occasions I have spoken on the importance of establishing an Indian Political Academy where young people can be trained to become effective leaders. The development of the youth is vital to be able to build a better society.
Several young people approached the BJP leaders regarding the unemployment issue during the 2009 recession. After graduating from college without any jobs in hand the youth was faced with the problem of repaying their education loans. Several young men and women who had jobs were scared of losing them and were contemplating suicide. I could not afford to let the biggest population segment to lose hope. In order to raise their issue of unemployment and lack of opportunities I led a Yuva Shakti Diwas' rally.
