Days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to interact with traders from across the country, Union Minister and former Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Vijay Goel claimed that support was “pouring in from all quarters” of the community in the Capital.
Multiple meetings
Mr. Goel addressed multiple traders’ meetings at the Kapda market and Shanti Mohalla in Gandhi Nagar and Kurta market in old Seelampur on Wednesday where he assured members of the community that matters related to traders would be addressed once the traders’ welfare board is established.
The Prime Minister will interact with representatives from the community at the ‘Rashtriya Vyapari Dhanyawad Mahasammelan’ on April 19.
“Now traders would be in direct contact with the government all through the year. Small shop owners are particularly pleased that no party addressed their grievances while they had been passing on the taxes to the government,” the Union Minister said.
“Traders are enthusiastic about the national traders’ welfare board and pension for small shop owners announced in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra. Thousands of traders are coming together…and business leaders Pravin Khandelwal, Satyabhushan Jain and Satish Garg have had more than 100 traders’ meetings so far,” he said further.
April 19 event
Meanwhile, Mr. Goel surveyed the venue of the event, Talkatora stadium, along with traders and inspected the ongoing preparations for the April 19 event.
“Traders from across the country are arriving at Delhi and lodging facilities are being arranged for them. For years, traders have been the supporters of the BJP and now with the announcements in BJP’s Sankalp Patra, they are uniting to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister again,” he added.
