· Kapil Mishra, O.P Sharma, Jay Prakash and others to be present too;
· Kejriwal should resign after Supreme Court’s rebuke- Goel;
· Those blaming stubble themselves responsible for stubble burning in Punjab: Goel
New Delhi, 6th November, 2019: To protest against stubble burning in Punjab by Aam Aadmi Prty, MP and former BJP Delhi President, Vijay Goel, along with Jagdish Pradhan, Kapil Mishra, O.P.Sharma, Devendra Sehrawat, Anil Bajpai, Shazia Ilmi, Ashwini Upadhyay, Richa Pandey, Jai Prakash, Abhay Verma will give stubble to Dy CM Manish Sisodia by riding a cycle to his residence.
Goel said that CM Arvind Kejriwal and his party members are hypocrites. On one hand, they are blaming stubble burning in Delhi, and on the other hand, there MLAs in Punjab are instigating, encouraging and themselves burning stubble.
Goel said that there have been reports that in the areas where Aam Aadmi Party has 19 MLAs, those areas are burning most stubble. Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab division’s Shukhpal Singh Khaira was caught burning stubble on camera in 2017. Now, the Opposition leader of Punjab Legislative Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema is also supporting stubble burning.
Replying to Manish Sisodia’s claim, Goel clarified that—
1. I have always said that according to Environmental Organisations stubble burning contributes only 10-20% of pollution levels in Delhi;
2. If Kejriwal does not address 90% of causes of pollution, then Odd-Even ends up being a mere gimmick.
3. Goel said that his stand has been vindicated by the Supreme Court as well that only Odd-Even is rendered ineffective by just car rationing.
Goel said that Supreme Court has vindicated his stand on pollution and has asked Chief Secretary why is he on his post if he cannot curb road dust, construction and demolition waste, garbage burning? Construction activities are still going on in Delhi, look at the level of pollution. Take strict action against the violators.
Goel said that Kejriwal should resign from his post after being rebuked by Supreme Court for its gross negligence.
Goel said that the letter written by him yesterday to Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia to answer about Delhi government’s efforts to curb pollution levels in Delhi remains unanswered.
Goel demanded that the weather has improved now, meteorological conditions have gotten better, children have started going to school as well. Now, Kejriwal ji stop wasting crores on advertisements because Delhiites are very smart and can understand everything in just one go.
