New Delhi 19 June, 2021 : Led by former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Vijay Goel, Lok Abhiyan workers today demonstrated at ITO Chowk on the issue of scam by Delhi Govt. for buying 1000 low floor DTC buses. Goel's demanded that the investigation of the purchase of 1000 E low floor buses worth 890 crores should be done by the CBI.
Along with Goel, the prominent leaders were MLA Om Prakash Sharma and former mayor Jai Prakash and former chairman of the standing committee Pravesh Wahi and Satpal.
Goel said that in March 2021 itself, the issue of bus scam was raised by our MLAs in March 2021 in the Delhi Assembly and after that the Lt Governor was also asked by the MLAs to investigate the entire bus scam. There were many mall practices in tender for the purchase of buses and also in tender for maintenance of buses.
Goel said that the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government found merit in the corruption allegation in its initial investigation, after which the Vigilance Department and Secretary Transport also confirmed it. The Lieutenant Governor then constituted a committee of three members for enquiry. CM Kejriwal should resign pending enquiry by LG appointed Committee.
Goel said that when already the three agencies noticed the irregularities in the bus scam, the Lt Governor should have sent it directly for CBI investigation instead of forming a three member committee or why is the ACB not given permission to conduct the enquiry.
Goel said that the Kejriwal government is continuously committing corruption in every tender and purchasein different departments.
Goel said that when tender for 1000 low floor buses already includes three years warranty, then why there is a contract of Rs 3500 crore being done separately for maintenance?
Goel said that no one is ready to believe that whether Kejriwal's signed the files or not, these scams are being done without his consent. Govt. should make report public of vigilance commission & Transport department.
MLA Om Prakash said that the Delhi government wants to prolong the matter after repeatedly complaining in the House and to the Lieutenant Governor so that the scam can be covered up. Kejriwal government is now tampering with files to save its skin.
Former Mayor Jaiprakash said that the workers of entire Delhi will come out on the streets on 1000 bus scam and expose the other scams of Kejriwal government. In the past, there has also been a lot of corruption in the new liquor policy and Ration also.
