G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant and Former Union Minister and Vice Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti Vijay Goel unveiled the display of the G-20 Logo at Mandi House Chowk on December 1, 2022 on the occasion of India taking over the Presidency of G-20. A large number of youth took part in the programme with fervor.
Speaking on the occasion, Amitabh Kant termed it a historic moment saying that it is a big responsibility for India as the G20 accounts for 85 per cent of the global GDP and two-thirds of the world population.
Kant also said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make G-20 action oriented, inclusive, reform-oriented, and forward looking.
In his address Vijay Goel said, “We are congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is also the chairman of Gandhi Smriti, for making India proud. This is a great moment of victory for India under the dynamic leadership of our PM Narendra Modi to become the President of the G-20 Group”.
Goel said that while releasing the logo of G-20 recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that this logo is not just a symbol, but it is an emotion, which runs in our veins. We live and harmonise with the spirit of universal brotherhood through the mantra of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or One Earth, One Family, One Future.”
Goel said, “In fact, in the G-20 logo and theme, we have tried to present a glimpse of our great culture to the world, a culture that is rooted in the Buddha's concept of non-violence and Mahatma Gandhi's message of peace, harmony and universalism”.
