The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Shri Vijay Goel today said that the BJP is battle ready for another round of assembly polls even though these polls have been forced upon Delhi by Aam Aadmi Party which refused to form the government due to the fear of getting exposed.
“The BJP did not have the required numbers so we could not form the government. But Congress had given unconditional support to AAP and hence it had numbers but it still did not form the government,” said Shri Goel.
In a statement issued today, Shri Goel informed that a meeting of the Election Core Group for Delhi was held at state BJP headquarters to review the situation and discuss the future strategy. The meeting was attended among others by Delhi election in-charge Shri Nitin Gadkari and co-incharge Shri Navjot Singh Siddhu.
Shri Gadkari said that BJP has emerged as the single largest party and the first choice of the people of Delhi. The party cadres need to work even harder now to fulfil the aspirations of the Delhi'ites. If elections are held again, BJP will emerge much stronger with a clear majority, added Shri Gadkari
“The party has decided to go back to the people through a three pronged strategy- door to door campaign, public meetings and social media campaign. The BJP cadres would communicate to the people how AAP’s non-serious approach has forced another election upon Delhi’ites and how BJP has been fighting against misrule of Congress for the last 15 years and hence it is the most feasible and viable alternative,” said Shri Goel.
“Party cadres and leaders will organise “victory rally (vijay rally) on the assembly seats on which we have won while there will be ‘thanksgiving (aabhar rallies)’ rallies on seats where we have lost,” he added.
Shri Goel said BJP is going to keep special focus on youth and women. The youth and women wings of the party will be further geared up to meet the challenge of expanding our base further amongst these two sections.
“In addition to these measures, a three member working group is being set up which will visit various assembly segments and assess the performance of various BJP legislators. The BJP legislators have been informed that even though we may not be in power but every opportunity to take up issues of Delhi’ites must be utilised,” he added.
