Special hobby: Cooking, when he stayed with his father in the hostel, he use to cook food for him as his father never liked outside eatable. Favorite dishes were ‘Moong ki daal’, ‘Urad ki daal’, Tauri, Tinde, Lauki, ‘Kaddu’, ‘Karela’, mooli-rasdaar, poori bhindi, holi ki gujhiya etc.

Favourite clothes: Dhoti-Kurta, occasionally ‘Pathani Suit’, Jodhpuri coat. (As a student, aligarhi Payzama-kameez was the liking. Sherwani and chudidar payzama was also the favourite though occasional wear after becoming an MP)

Favourite Season: Winter (Sitting in the Sun: At Safdurjung residence, loved to lie down on ‘chatai’ under the Sun.)

Favourite readings: Novel, poem, stories, religious books ‘Maha Bharat’, ‘Ramayan’, Raghuvansh, Maghdoot, Shakespeare’s plays. (Read Vedas as a prisoner at All India Medical Inst.)

Favourite songs: “o re manjhi” & “Sun mere bandh re” – by S. D. Burman and “Kabhi kabhi mere dil main khyal”- by Mukesh & Lata.
