The Hindu- Goel launches ‘Youth for Modi’ outreach campaign

Union Minister Vijay Goel launched his ‘Youth for Modi’ campaign in the city on Wednesday. The campaign is an outreach program to connect students and youth “directly” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

The campaign saw Mr. Goel interacting with students and youth at the Vishwavidyalaya metro station near Delhi University where he apprised the audience about the “numerous initiatives” undertaken by the Modi-led government to “fulfil the aspirations of the youth of the country”.

He later addressed queries from the audience on issues and policies concerning the youth.

“I suggested five ways to the youth of Delhi for getting involved in the upcoming general election: voter registration and getting other youngsters to register as voters, organizing Chai-Pe-Charcha public meetings, engaging in door-to-door campaign activities, and discussions around #PhirEkBaarModiSarkar on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp,” said the Minister.

“The interaction happened in the background when today India has registered its presence among the elite space powers by becoming the fourth country in the world to shoot down a low-orbit satellite with a missile. This was the result of the painstaking efforts of our scientists… I also congratulated PM Modi on Mission Shakti and thanked him for various milestones India has achieved in areas ranging from defence to space,” said the former Delhi BJP president.

Mr. Goel said there were 15 million young voters who would vote for the first time in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

“Besides, 65% of our population is young and below the age of 35 and needs to be reached out to and made aware about the development done by the Modi-led government,” he said.

The Minister will continue the campaign on Saturday at Lodhi Garden, followed by another event on Sunday at Moti Nagar.
