Shun politics of appeasement – Goel
Imran Hussain involved in Durga temple attack, Goel demands action
New Delhi, July 3, 2019: Targeting the Kejriwal government, Rajya Sabha MP and former BJP Delhi President Vijay Goel said today that following the attack on Mata Durga temple in Chandni Chowk, while he was touring Lal Kua area yesterday, July 2, the local people informed him that it was Delhi Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Imran Hussain who deliberately gave communal color to a parking fight.
Goel said the involvement of Imran Hussain in the attack on temple raises several questions as Delhi Chief Minister has also chosen to remain silent on the entire episode. Goel said this is not the first time that the Kejriwal government and the AAP leaders are indulging the politics of appeasement for their vested interests. Even in the case of Ankit Saxena, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had remained silent for a long time. After a long period of one and a half years, kins of Saxena received the compensation only at the time when the Kejriwal government decided to send assistance to the family of Tabrez Ansari in Jharkhand. This was done to secure their vote bank. Similarly, even in the Dhruv Tyagi murder case, CM Kejriwal chose to remain silent and it was only later when the media reports came out that the Tyagi family received compensation.
Goel said that the Kejriwal government has been practicing the politics of appeasement from day one. In 2016, the criminal arrested in the Malerkotla Quran sacrilege incident accused Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Yadav of paying him Rs 1 crore to hatch the conspiracy in order to create tension between two communities. In fact, Arvind Kejriwal himself has supported the Tukde-Tukde Gang which was found to be raising anti-India slogans in the JNU. The Delhi government refused to give permission to Delhi police to file chargesheet against the gang involved in the 2016 sedition case. Even in the run-up to Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, the Kejriwal government hiked the salaries of Imams of Delhi Waqf board from Rs 10,000/month to Rs 18,000/month in order to seek support from a specific section of the society.
Goel demanded strict, immediate action against Imran Hussain for its role in the attack on Mata Durga temple of Chandni Chowk. He advised CM Kejriwal to shun the appeasement politics and adopt Modi Ji’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.
