New Delhi, Jul 10 Senior BJP leader Vijay Goel will hold a mega convention on Sunday to discuss issues faced by residents of group housing societies in the city.Goel said Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be the chief guest at the event, where she will speak about the Union Budget presented in Parliament recently.
"Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will highlight the achievements of the budget at the event to be held at Talkatora stadium on July 14," Goel said in a statement.
An open discussion on various issues faced by the residents of group housing societies will be the main focus of the event, he said.
Goel, along with BJP MP Pravesh Verma, called upon Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum regarding the problems faced by the residents.
"These societies are in urgent need of redevelopment. These societies can be redeveloped as per the master plan of Delhi-2021," he said.
There are more than 1,200 group housing societies in Delhi which are home to more than 10 lakh residents. The development of these group housing societies had begun in 1980 and currently they are in bad shape, the BJP leader said. VIT AMP SNE SNE
