Goel said that since the Muncipal Corporation of Delhi is not providing any civic service in the societies, it should stop collecting property tax or should offer rebate. No tax should be levied even on the common area. Since the Delhi Jal Board is not providing separate connections to the flats, it should also offer rebate on the bills. North MCD Commissioner Varsha Joshi assured immediate resolution of garbage disposal at housing societies and a policy framework to scrap levying of tax on the common area.

Goel said the agitation for the Group Housing Society is gaining momentum. Delhi’s first Mahasammelan for Group Housing Societies is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 14 July at Talkatora Stadium.
