Riding high on its victory in the municipal polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already begun the groundwork for the Assembly polls, more than a year away. The party on Saturday organised a convention of Residents' Welfare Associations (RWAs) to mobilise a movement to oust the Congress government in the state. The Talkatora indoor stadium, packed with members from over 4,500 RWAs, reverberated with slogans opposing the Delhi government's plan to hike electricity tariff and privatise Delhi Jal Board.

Bhartiya Janata Party [BJP] organised a protest march from Rajghat to Delhi Secretariat against water and power crisis in the city. A delegation of the party also submitted a memorandum to Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit who reportedly showed her helplessness in finding a ‘magical solution to water shortage in Delhi’.

As Delhiites continue to face severe water shortage and the government goes on blaming Haryana for the present crisis, officials of Haryana irrigation department rubbished the government's claim. According to senior Haryana officials, the state has been supplying adequate water to Delhi, amounting to more than 1,200 cusecs and the shortage of water is caused by "internal mismanagement".

Barpeta (Assam): BJP on Sundauy charged the Tarun Gogoi-led Assam government with failure on the law and order front and demanded resignation of the chief minister. "The chief minister, who also holds the home portfolio, has failed in ensuring law and order in Assam," BJP state committee spokesperson Sarbananda Sonowal told reporters here.

जनसत्ता संवाददाता नई दिल्ली, 8 जून। दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के कालेजों में दिल्ली के उन सभी छात्रों को आरक्षण दिया जाए, जिन्होंने 12वीं की परीक्षा दिल्ली से दी है। चाहे वे फिर उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, हरियाणा या फिर किसी अन्य राज्य से आकर दिल्ली में क्यों न बसे हों। यह मांग पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री व लोक अभियान के अध्यक्ष विजय गोयल ने की है। इस आंदोलन के लिए गोयल ने फेसबुक पर विचार मांगे हैं। जब दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में सारी दुनिया के लोग आकर पढ़ेंगे और उनके कारण दिल्ली में ही रहने वाले छात्रों को दाखिला नहीं मिलेगा तो उन्हें मजबूरन दिल्ली से बाहर जाकर दाखिला लेना पड़ेगा, यह कहां से न्याय की बात है? इसलिए सभी कालेजों में 5 फीसद की छूट दिल्ली में रहने वाले छात्रों को दी जानी चाहिए।
बजट ने जनता पर डाला महंग ाई का बोझ: विजय गोयल
नई दिल्ली, जासं : पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री व भाजपा महासचिव विजय गोयल ने दिल्ली सरकार के बजट पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री शीला दीक्षित ने बजट में जनता के साथ धोखा किया है। केंद्र सरकार द्वारा पेट्रोल की कीमत में करीब 7.50 रुपये की बढ़ोतरी करने के बाद दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा उसमें 1.26 रुपये कम करके दिल्ली के लोगों के साथ धोखा किया गया है। दूसरी ओर सीएनजी के मूल्य में 1.77 रुपये बढ़ाकर जनता पर और अधिक बोझ डाला है। सरकार लगातार दिल्ली के विकास की बात तो कर रही है पर उसके पास बजट में नन प्लान हेड की अपेक्षा प्लान हेड में धनराशि कम है। सरकार को चाहिए था कि बिजली के मूल्य में कमी करने के लिए बिजली कंपनियों पर दबाव बनाती।
Delhi Govt. accused of delaying regularisation of illegal colonies
Accusing the Congress Government in Delhi of deliberately shifting the goalposts for prolonging the issue of regularisation of unauthorised colonies, senior BJP leader Vijay Goel on Thursday said the latest attempt by Urban Development Minister A..K. Walia to urge Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath for allowing regularisation of all colonies with 50 per cent built up area till 2007 was another step in the direction.
