BJP fully geared up for polls, 12000 crack teams, 3.5 lakh party cadres in place to lead poll charge
Unveiling the organisation strategy for coming assembly polls in Delhi, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today said the party is battle ready with successful completion of its exercise to put crack teams on all 11763 polling booths in the capital.
The party is adopting "Back to the basics" philosophy in which party cadres at the polling booth level are slated to play the key role.
In the assembly poll battle, the flag bearers of the party at ground zero will be 11763 crack teams comprising more than 3.5 lakh trained and well equipped party cadres. Tactically, it will not be the 70 odd party candidates but the 3.5 lakh strong crack teams which will contest these polls.
These crack teams and party cadres will be rallied from 19 July-4 August in 280 mandal level "Karyakarta Sammelans" which will be addressed by a galaxy of leaders from national and state.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader Smt. Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate the fisrt Sammelan at Narayana on July 19 at 4 pm. The theme of these Sammelans is "Majboot Sangathan, Nai Sarkar"
Over the last 90 days, in a mammoth and unique city wide exercise carried out at polling booth level, 10,000 crack teams have already been put in place. From poll strategy point of view, Delhi BJP leadership has divided the city into around 11,763 polling booths under 280 mandals and 14 districts of the BJP. Each assembly constituency has around 4 wards and each ward is looked after by mandal where a crack team of 32 members has started working full time for the assembly polls.
Elaborating further, Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel said, "On every polling booth we are constituting a 32 member crack team. Around 10,000 teams are already in place. This task was done over the last 90 days. The team comprises of 12 BJP workers over 30 years of age, 12 BJP workers below 30 years of age and 8 women."
There are around 250 families at every polling booth. The task assigned to this 32 member team is to reach every family. Thus every member of the team will approach around seven families over the next few months and will constantly remain in touch with them convincing them how important it is to bring a change in Delhi.

The party cadres will expose the misdeeds of the Congress government and will mobilise common people at the household level.
Shri Goel said, "BJP is a cadre based party. In our party, it is not the leader but the party cadres which content elections. In days to come these crack teams comprising 3.5 lakh committed party cadres will lead the poll charge and they will be backed by support at all levels from the party."
He further added, "After formulating these teams, our next step is train, engage and equip them. Thus we are holding "Karyakarta Sammelans" in all 280 mandals from 19 July to 4 August."
Each of this meet will be attended by the mandal level party workers and addressed by one of the senior state or national leaders. The focus of these "Sammelans" is three pronged- Training the party cadres, sharing of perspective by party cadres and taking a resolve to end the misrule of Congress.
The party will be sharing "information kits" with the party cadres at these meets so that they can take down the right kind of message with the right perspective to every household.
"Not only the top state level leaders but senior national leaders are going to be addressing the Karyakarta Sammelans. This is because our leadership has a clear view that it is the party cadre at the grassroot level which plays a key role in any election strategy. So the top leadership will be leading from the front at the grassroot level as our crack teams get going," said Shri Goel.
In addition to many other senior leaders, those would be addressing the "Karyakarta Sammelans" include Shri Rajnath Singh, Shri Ram Lal, Shri Nitin Gadkari, Shri Venkiah Naidu, Shri Anant Kumar and Shri Thawarchand Gehlot.

Smt Sushama Swaraj said, “The Uttarakhand tragedy has left many families in despair and broken. BJYM to spearhead “4% relaxation in DU cut off lists for Delhi students” campaign
- BJYM to spearhead “4% relaxation in DU cut off lists for Delhi students” campaign
- Delhi BJYM to hold protest demonstration at CM’s residence to protest its failure to open a single new college in 15 years
- Less than 30 per cent seats going to Delhi students in DU
New Delhi, July 14: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today announced that its youth wing-Delhi-BJYM- will spearhead the city wide campaign demanding relaxation of 4 per cent in the cut off marks for Delhi students in Delhi. The Delhi BJYM will hold a series of meetings of the youth who have failed to get admission in DU colleges despite passing out from Delhi schools and gherao the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit at her residence in coming week to protest her government’s inaction on this front over the last 15 years of Congress rule.
Addressing a Delhi BJYM rally of youth and students at Viveknanda Mahila College in East Delhi, Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel said, “Less than 30 per cent of DU’s seats for undergraduate courses have gone to students who passed out from Delhi Schools. There is a huge gap in number of students passing out class XII and the number of seats taken by these students in DU. Most of them are left in lurch.
A 4% relaxation in cut off marks for the students passing out from Delhi schools will help more students from Delhi to get in the DU colleges. The Delhi BJYM will lead this campaign.”
“There are 54000 seats for undergraduate seats in DU colleges. During the last 15 years, not even a single college has been opened by the Congress government while the number of students passing out from Class XII in Delhi schools is no less than 1.3 lakh. All 28 Delhi govt. run colleges have been opened by the BJP during its rule. The party has already issued an agenda for the youth in the Capital and it is committed to implement it,” said Sh. Goel.
“The only way to reduce the gap is to increase the number of colleges substantially, start evening classes in morning colleges and open branches/chapters of prestigious colleges in DU in the surrounding areas of Delhi so that students applying from other states in the DU may not have to come all the way here. This would also help to increase available seats in DU for Delhi students.”
“The BJP’s focus on youth is clear. We understand the importance of youth power and would like to channel their raw energy into making Delhi a better and safer city. But for that we need to address some issues concerning them, primary being, the issue of higher education at affordable prices within the city.”
“To deal with issues concerning youth holistically, the Delhi BJP has already issued an agenda for the youth in the Capital and it is committed to implement it,” said Sh. Goel.
Addressing the rally, Delhi BJYM President Sh. Guarav Khari said, “From 1993-98, the BJP government in Delhi had opened atleast eight new colleges in the DU and the first professional university due to which a large number of additional students got accommodated. Since then, the number of seats available in DU have been stagnant while the number of applicants have increased manifold.”
“The youth of Delhi have to suffer because of this inaction of the Congress government. Today even after scoring 90 per cent and more marks, Delhi students have to struggle to get admission in a DU college. The BJYM will press for a wider debate on preference for Delhi students in all DU colleges. If required there should be reservation of seats for students from Delhi schools in not only DU but also in other universities,” he added.
The BJYM will expose the Congress’ failure to address the problems and issues concerning youth in the Capital through rallies, public meetings, protests, demonstrations and online campaign, informed Sh. Khari.
BJP Mahila Morcha stages strong demonstration against price spiral and false food security scheme.
- BJP Mahila Morcha stages strong demonstration against price spiral and false food security scheme.
- PDS has collapsed, Ration Cards have not been issued for the last 15 years in Delhi-Goel
New Delhi, July 13: BJP Delhi Pradesh Mahila Morcha staged a strong demonstration against ever increasing prices of essential commodities in Delhi and the country and the false food security scheme of the Congress Government. The demonstration was staged from 11, Ashoka Road to 10, Janpath. BJP Delhi Pradesh President Shri Vijay Goel, Mahila Morcha President Smt. Sudha Sharma, Pradesh General Secretary Smt. Shikha Rai, Dr. Anita Arya, Smt. Poornima Vidhyarthi, Ms. Nupur Sharma, Smt. Mukul Aggarwal etc. participated in this demonstration.
Addressing the women workers participating in the demonstration, Pradesh President Shri Vijay Goel said that the Chief Minister of Delhi wants to implement food security scheme in Delhi from 20th August, 2013. But the reality is that no ration cards have been issued for the last 15 years in Delhi. PDS System has totally collapsed. Justice Wadhwa Committee has found that the PDS system in Delhi is one of the most corrupt and inefficient system in the country. Earlier Annashri Yojna and Antyodaya Yojna started by Delhi Government have already failed to serve the people. Now Delhi Government wants to hoodwink the people by talking about Food Security Scheme. This scheme will meet the same fate as the Rajiv Ratna Aawas Yojna. The people of Delhi know all these things and they shall give a fitting reply to the Congress at proper time.
Mahila Morcha Pradesh President Smt. Sudha Sharma said that the Government has no control over price rise of essential commodities. As a housewife she knows that how much the price rise has adversely affected the household of the people. Now even vegetables are out of the reach of common man. We are not in a position to provide nutritious food to our children.
On this occasion, Pradesh General Secretary Smt. Shikha Rai said that the Government has completely failed to provide essential commodities at fair price to the people. The Government issued the Ordinance when only 20 days were left for the commencement of Parliament sessions. It shows that the Government wants to hoodwink the people on this issue and its real intentions are not to provide food security.
The police stopped the demonstrators at Akbar Road and used force against them. Many women workers sustained injuries. Not only this, the police also used water cannon against the women workers. BJP strongly opposes the use of force by the Government.

- BJP holds massive “Grameen Akrosh” rally in Bijwasan, thousands vow to remove Congress for ruining rural Delhi, making false promises
- Congress making false announcements on Section 81 of DLR and extension of Lal Dora:Goel
- Delhi villages made to suffer from acute water shortage by Congress, poor quality of water a cause of concern: Goel
- Congress govt. turned Delhi villages into slums in last 14½ years: Rana
Thousands of Delhi citizens gathered in Bijwasan today at Delhi BJP’s “Grameen Akrosh” rally to express their anger over false promises made regarding Delhi villages by the Congress government in Delhi over the last 15 years. Addressing the rally, Delhi BJP President, Sh. Vijay Goel said, “ Neither Lal Dora has been extended no Section 81 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act has been removed during last 15 years of Congress rule. In addition to other development issues, these are two fundamental issues concerning all villages in the city. The Congress manifestos during previous two elections clearly made a false promise regarding these two issues as Congress, after forming the government in Delhi slept on the issue.
Now just a few months prior to the assembly polls, the Congress government has woken up and to avoid a political backlash it has made another “deceptive” announcement regarding restriction on the use Section-81 of Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954.
The Congress Government of Delhi is misleading by claiming that the people living in Lal Dora area, unauthorized colonies and extended abadi areas will be able to get their properties registered and carry out construction after approval of building plans by the authorities concerned. The last date for submitting application has been kept as 20 August. Within a few days of this deadline, the Model code of conduct for assembly polls in Delhi will come into force.
The Congress i Government will have an excuse and tell the people that since the Model Code of Conduct has come into force, the decision will be taken by the concerned authorities concerned after the elections.”
Sh. Goel said, “People of Delhi realise that Congress used a similar ploy before 2008 assembly polls also when it announced issue of provisional certificates for regularization of unauthorised colonies. Post-assembly polls, this announcement remained on paper and no benefit accrued to common people. The same is going to happen in case of recent announcements regarding Delhi villages”
The Delhi BJP President said, “This government has failed to provide even a single glass of clean water to half of the city. People are dying with Delhi Jal Board headed by the Chief Minister supplying contaminated water. Worst affected are the rural areas which have to largely rely on private water tankers even for daily needs. Most of the villages do not have basic sewage facilities. The Delhi government run schools in rural areas does not have basic facilities. There are no regular teachers. “
Shri Satprakash Rana, BJP MLA from Bijwasan said, “The villages of Delhi have been left unattended by Congress government. All those initiatives which were started by BJP related to transport, education, water, power, sewage and other public utilities have been stopped by the Congress government. The compensation rates for land acquisition in this part of Delhi, which were increased manifold by BJP from 1993 to 1998, have remained almost stagnant.
Sh. Satprakash Rana, MLA said, “People are fed up with the misrule of Congress government both in Delhi and at the Centre. It is time to throw them out of the seat of power. Water is the main issue of Delhi and the coming election shall be fought over water. ”
Sh. Kulwant Rana, another Jat MLA from BJP said, “The BJP, wherever it has been in government, has done tremendous work for people. While BJP’s key agenda is “good governance”, Congress has nothing to show in its report card either at Centre or in Delhi.”
The villages of Delhi, which were pride of this city, have been turned into slums. The residents of rural areas feel cheated by Congress government and are ready to give it a befitting reply in coming assembly elections.”
Bhupender Gupta, president, BJP ‘s Mehrauli district, said, “ The BJP will ensure that when it comes to power, the long pending demands of the residents in rural areas in Delhi are given top priority.”
BJP will come out with white paper, time bound action plan for women safety in Delhi
- Delhi becoming more and more unsafe for women, more than 2500 cases of rape and molestation in last six months in Delhi
- BJP to come out with white paper, time bound action plan for women safety in Delhi
- BJP Govt. will ensure 20 per cent more women cops, quick reaction teams to make city safer for women: Goel
Expressing deep concern over the rising crime graph against women in Delhi, the Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party today announced that it will soon come out with a white paper on “women safety” which will suggest way and means to make Delhi safe for women.
Delhi has witnessed 806 rape cases this year until June 20, a sharp increase from 330 for the same period last year. The jump in the number of molestation cases is even steeper, with 1,780 cases reported in the Capital in the first six months this year against 270 for the same period last year.
Reacting to the latest reports that indicate that the rapes cases against women have almost doubled in Delhi as compared to last year, the party today also announced setting up of a working group to work specifically on the issue of “Women’s safety” in Delhi. The group in consultation with the experts will put together an action plan with a fixed time frame.
“The situation is grave in Delhi with more than 2500 incidents of rape and molestation over a period of last six months. A party delegation will meet Union Home Minister to demand immediate remedial action. It is deplorable that the Congress government in Delhi remains either tight lipped or just shifts the blame on Delhi Police for such a grave situation. There is an urgent need for affirmative action.”
“There has to be a time bound action plan on the ground to curb the rising crime graph against women in the city,” said Delhi BJP President Shri Vijay Goel.
Spelling out some of the initiatives which would be taken up the BJP when it comes to power to ensure safety for women, Shri Goel said “The BJP will strengthen Delhi Home Guards by providing them better training and enhancing their numbers to supplement the policing efforts of Delhi Police.
We will increase number of women police stations substantially, fill up existing vacancies for women personnel in Delhi police immediately, increase the number of women cops by atleast 20 per cent in the city. The party will introduce self-defence modules for women in all educational institutions and ensure intensive patrolling by the women cops,” informed Shri Goel.
“We will constitute quick reaction teams to deal with any incident of eve teasing or crime against women,” said Shri Goel.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau data, amongst 53 cities in the country having a population of more than 10 lakh, Delhi accounts for 18 % rape cases and atleast 10% of molestation cases. Overall amongst these 53 cities, Delhi accounted for more than 13% of the crimes committed against women.
Delhi BJP General Secretary Smt. Shikha Rai said, “In Delhi , the number of women police personnel stands merely at 7 per cent. Out of more than 160 police stations, there is only one woman police station. This is completely inadequate and the number of women cops needs to be increased substantially.”
“It is ironical that the Chief Minister of Delhi, who herself is a woman, has done nothing to improve the situation in the Capital. She just conveniently shifts the blame to Delhi Police.”
Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Ms Sudha Sharma said, “When a Chief Minister starts saying herself that her daughter is not safe in the city, that itself is an evidence of how unsafe this city has become for women during Congress rule. The CM cannot abdicate her responsibility by shifting the blame on others. The BJP believes in affirmative action on such issues without any delay and it will do so when it comes to power.”
“Meanwhile we will hold consultations with experts and all other stakeholders to chalk out ways and means to strengthen safety net for women. The party will be holding a seminar on this issue soon. It will be followed by a series of programmes at local level all over the city on this issue to connect with women on the issue of enhancing safety for women,” she added.
