BJP will sue Delhi govt if power tariff rises again
The Delhi BJP on Saturday said it will intensify its agitation and may approach court if the power tariff goes up any further in the Capital. Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said it was beyond doubt that the DERC and discoms were acting at the behest of the Delhi government.
BJP slams DERC, alleges nexus with govt
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) of acting at the behest of the government. Addressing the media on Saturday, BJP president Vijay Goel, party member Anil Sood and Rajiv Kakaria of Chetna – a social organisation – claimed that the licence of power distribution companies should have been cancelled for flouting norms but DERC had not even bothered serving any notices to them so far.
Goel rubbishes Sibal’s graft charges in Delhi municipal bodies
New Delhi: Rejecting Union Minister Kapil Sibal's graft allegations against municipal bodies, Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel on Friday asked him why no action was taken against city government based on report of the CAG and Shunglu Committee into the alleged CWG bunglings. Goel also challenged Sibal for an open debate on alleged corruption in the Congress-ruled Delhi government and BJP- ruled municipal corporations.
Save water bodies, demands BJP
Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel has asked the government to save water bodies in the Delhi. He demanded a white paper on acute shortage of drinking water in the city. ‘The water problem of the city is due to shrinking water water bodies in the city,’ said Goel during a visit to Sanjay Ganhi Lake in east Delhi.
Goel throws in lot with schools facing closure due to small size of plots
Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel has supported the movement of over 2,000 public schools in the city which are facing closure due to the small size of plots. Addressing a rally near the Vidhan Sabha on Monday, Goel said the quality of education must be the criterion for schools, not the size of the plots. The government must do something to save the career of thousands of students studying in these schools, he said.

As the deadline for closure of schools that do not meet specific guidelines under the Right To Education Act, 2009, drew near, hundreds of schools managers, teachers and parents of students of unrecognised schools located in rehabilitated colonies, slums and the walled city gathered at Delhi Vidhan Sabha to protest. The agitation was led by Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel.
BJP leaders held during power tariff protest
Several members of Bharatiya Janata Party, lead by party's Delhi chief Vijay Goel, were detained at Tughlaq Road police station on Saturday when they were marching to Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's residence to protest against high power tariff. Before he was detained, Goel told the protesters that there was a collusion between power distribution companies and the Delhi government.

New Delhi: Scores of BJP activists led by Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel on Saturday courted arrest here today while protesting against power tariff hike in front of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's residence. Upping the ante, Goel alleged that power tariff in the city was being hiked frequently at the "behest" of the Chief and challenged her for a public debate on the issue.
