Opposition parties are provoking and misguiding the public about demonetisation: Vijay Goel
In order to counter the rumour mongering and flow of fake and provocative statements by the Opposition parties against PM Narendra Modi’s bold move of demonetisation against black money, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel will lead a March for Demonetisation and create awareness among the public. Addressing the media during a press conference, Goel stated that the first mega rally to support the demonetisation scheme would begin at Delhi’s Paharganj area on 27th November, 2016 where he will address businessmen as well as people from all walks of life. He will interact with various business communities and enlighten them about the various digital modes of transactions. He will also appeal to the masses that PM Modi’s decision is aimed to create a clean India for all and the public must reject all divisive tactics and lies being spread by some political parties which had pushed the nation into darknessduring their rule.
PM Modi’s decision to ban Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes is not only historic but also symbolises the strong political will of the current government unlike the Congress which despite its long stint at the Centre failed to take any bold step to uplift the nation’s economy and clean up the black money.
Goel stated that he and many other volunteers within Delhi and outside the capital have stated that despite initial problems, everyone has hailed PM’s move and are cooperating as per the rules and regulations. Goel also added that the Opposition isn’t protesting against the problems that people are facing in the initial phase of demonetisation but can’t stand the PM’s growing popularity among the masses. “Earlier the Opposition used to question PM’s motive regarding black money but now when he has taken a drastic measure to curb the menace of black money, the same parties are hell bent to create hurdles for the government. It seems they have been hurt”, Goel said.
Goel also mentioned that during Congress rule, kids used to line up outside ration shops, kerosene shop and so on. He said that some sections are aiming at fulfilling their vested interests eg. some bank officials have allegedly transferred funds in their family members’ name which is highly objectionable and therefore every person must keep in mind the national interest instead of selfish gains.
Goel added that some parties are using the social media to provoke people using fake news. He cited the example of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who had tweeted the image of a thief who went to loot a bank but committed suicide as he feared arrest, but Kejriwal projected it as if this was a person who failed to withdraw cash and ended his life. Even Rahul Gandhi had made contradictory statements saying that all BJP leaders knew about the decision way before it was made public but then he stated that the decision was so secret that none including Finance Minister were aware of it. The Opposition has even gone to the extent that the government waived off loans of big corporate houses but failed to provide any proof for the same while some news were found to be fabricated. Most of the surveys conducted so far have pointed towards the fact that the people are willing to face the initial difficulties and wholeheartedly support PM Modi in his fight against corruption and black money.
Goel says, “Political parties and leaders who are worried about their own black money are misguiding the public”
A day after Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports
administered a pledge to hundreds of youth at Rajghat to support PM’s Surgical Strike on
Black Money under the recent demonetisation scheme, Goel today visited various banks in
Delhi’s Paharganj area to check their preparedness for the process.
Goel also set up a public support camp along with Bharatiya Janata Party volunteers in order
to help various sections with the formalities related to the currency exchange scheme. The
volunteers have also made arrangements for water and refreshments for the people lining up
outside the banks. Goel was seen interacting with the masses and knowing their grievances.
He even spoke to several bank officials in the area and suggested that they open more
counters for extended hours in order to help the public in a better and efficient manner.
During his interaction with the public, Goel urged them to support the PM’s decision as it’s
for the overall good of the nation and can be successful only with people’s cooperation. He
also stated that there are some initial problems but people are cooperating in the entire
process which was evident from the feedback of many standing in the queue. He even
appreciated the bank officials who are helping the public in long queues.
Interacting with the media Goel said, “Some political parties are engaging in rumour-
mongering in order to misguide people and deter the process of smooth transition.” “These
political leaders who are spreading rumours are worried by the PM’s growing popularity post
the bold decision to ban Rs.500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes to curb black money”, Goel
added. Goel also urged the volunteers of the BJP to setup similar public support camps across
Delhi and other regions to help the masses and the weaker sections.
Earlier, Vijay Goel hailed PM’s initiative and termed it the second “Swachhta Abhiyaan” to
free the nation from corruption and malpractice. He further stated, “The ones who have
stashed black money are blaming the government and misguiding the public but those leading
an honest life are happy with the PM’s historic decision”, he added.
Vijay Goel stated that despite some initial issues, the citizens of India have hailed PM’s demonetisation scheme
Union Minister Vijay Goel has congratulated PM Narendra Modi and the
countrymen for the bold move to stop circulation of ₹500 and ₹1000 currency notes. In a surprise move
which stole the thunder from the US Presidential Elections, PM Modi addressed the nation last night and
stated that the move was aimed to curb the menace of black money and the use of counterfeit notes to fuel
terrorism and other ills. Goel took to Twitter and hailed the decision as a “surgical strike on black money”.
Goel further stated that though people will find it difficult to deal with the situation in the initial phase but
the various methods taken by the government for the time being will help the citizen. “Any bold move
aimed to keep the nation clean and corruption free causes trouble to those who work with disguised notions,
but PM’s move will strengthen our economy and help to tackle the menace of terror funding and counterfeit
currency.” He further mentioned that the response has been phenomenal and people have hailed the historic
step taken by the government. “Those living life honestly are happy with this decision”, he added.
PM Modi during his address to the nation stated that the government has been fighting the menace of black
money and corruption ever since it assumed power two years ago. He also urged people to help government
in its fight against fake currency and black money.
SELECTION OF FOREIGN COACHES TO BE DONE THROUGH OPEN ADVERTISEMENT
Selection of foreign coaches in future will be done through open advertisement. The Union Minister of State( Independent Charge) for Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Vijay Goel has approved this proposal which emerged at a meeting taken by him with senior officers of his Ministry and Sports Authority of India in New Delhi yesterday. This will bring more names before the Foreign Coaches Selection Committee in addition to those suggested by National Sports Federations.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports spends a substantial amount on foreign coaches to prepare Indian athletes for Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and other important tournaments. Keeping this in view, extension to foreign coaches in future will be given on the basis of their performance as assessed by a Committee.
Hiring of foreign coaches is a necessity for training Indian athletes in many sports disciplines at present, but they will be utilized for training Indian coaches so that our dependence on foreign coaches can be reduced in future. The contract with foreign coaches will invariably include a component of training of Indian coaches for a certain period.
Shri Vijay Goel said that he would continue to take such steps in the interest of transparency in sports.

Delhiites put behind bar daring emergency must get pension.
A delegation of Sayagrahis imprisoned in Tihar Jail during the emergency visited Tihar Jail today, 25th June 2016. Led by Shri Vijay Goel, MP and Former Union Minister in order to refresh the memories of that period.
Shri Goel has stated that refreshing memories is a must to ensure emergency is not imposed again. Many families were ruined due to excesses suffered by thousands of persons during the said 19th months. Shri Goel said that the families of those persons of Delhi, who were put behind bar must also be given pension as a honor to them like Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh.
Shri Goel said that censorship was imposed during emergency. Democracy was throttled. Personal freedom was snatched. Programmes like compulsory vasectomy were thrust upon people. Congress Prime Minister India Gandhi had become unbridled dictator during emergency.
Shri Goel has made a demand that in order to keep the memories of emergency always fresh, a museum with all the documents of that period may be set up in the capital, Delhi, in which there is a mention of the excesses committed in the entire India during this period and it must also depict the struggle waged against it. This museum will teach a lesson to our future generation that no one can destroy the integrity, sovereignty and democratic values of India.
Besides, Shri Goel said that the report of the shah commission, set up to probe the excesses of emergency may be made public once again. It is worth mentioning that successive Congress Governments had destroyed all the copies of this report. So that future generation are not able to know about their black deeds.
Along with Mr Goel the members visited are: /Shri Mukesh Puniyani, P K Chandla, Mukesh Chand Sharma, Ramsarn Bhatia, Motilal Sodhi, MangeramGarg, Mewaram Arya, Tilakraj Kataria, Vedvyas Mahajan, Swadesh Chadha, Dinesh Sharma, Jeetram Solanki, Hemant Vishnoi, Braham Singh Tanwar, Sudhir Madaan, Harbans Lal Uppal, Dharamvir Sharma, Vijay Khurana, Inder Kumar Tomar etc. were the members of the delegation.
National Education Policy Report also support my Demand for eligibility test after class 12th for college admissions — Vijay Goel
For Pressing the demand of reservation and preference for Delhi Students in Delhi University Admissions, thousands of students and parents today met in Mavlankar Hall New Delhi.
While addressing the gathering former union minister and MP Sh Vijay Goel, who have been raising this issue for the last 6 years, said that our movement is presently focusing on four demands:
Give 85% reservation in those 18 colleges which are 100% funded by Delhi Government.
An eligibility test should be conducted so that cheaters are kept out.
5% Weightage in Cutoff to be given to students who have passed 12th from Delhi CBSE.
Open New colleges and start evening colleges in existing colleges.
Mr. Goel said that the new National Policy of Education Draft Report also supported his demand for eligibility test after class 12th for college admissions. Soon he will also be going to meet the Hon’ble Union Education Minister Smt. Smiriti Irani on this Issue.
Educationist Sh. S.L. Jain said that the Delhi University has only 54,000 seats in 61 colleges where 50% seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC etc. Presently ~2,23,000 students have passed from Delhi CBSE. Out of general category of ~26,000 Delhi students got only ~11,000 seats.
The President of Delhi Management Mr. R.C. Jain said that it is very painful for the citizens of Delhi that their children are not able to get admission in colleges and courses of their own choice and in their home state, in spite of getting more than 60% marks. The problem is particularly acute for the girl students belonging to Delhi as their parents are reluctant to send them out of Delhi for higher education. Therefore, most of the Girls, who could not get admission in Delhi, are compelled to discontinue their studies. Students belonging to poor families, who study in Government schools, also suffer as they are unable to get admission in Delhi University colleges.
On this occasion many students has expressed their difficulties and are anguish for not getting the admission in DU. The 12th Pass Ms. Isha who got 95% marks said that she wants admission tin SRCC but most of the seats are cornered by outsiders. She came here to support the eligibility test.
Another student Deepak whose parents came and settled 10 years back from Bihar said that I have passed my 12th examination from Delhi. Now even I may have to leave Delhi if I don’t get admission in DU.
Jatin who scored 52% marks in 12th class said that when the other state reserved seats for their students than why not in Delhi. I want either 5% marks preference for Delhi Students in DU admissions or 85% seats reservation in Delhi Government colleges.
Delhi Deputy CM & Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodiahas agreed with Shri Vijay Goel’s demand for providing preference in admission to Delhi Students in Delhi University.
Delhi Deputy CM & Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodiahas agreed with Shri Vijay Goel’s demand for providing preference in admission to Delhi Students in Delhi University.
A delegation led by MrGoel met Mr. Sisodia and discussed with him that how injustice is being done to the 2-2.5 lakh Delhi students every year, who have passed Senior Secondary Exam from Delhi and are not getting admission in their own state.
Mr. Sisodia has agreed with all the three demands raised by Mr. Goel and has assured Mr. Goel that he will now work for the betterment of Delhi students. The demands raised by Mr. Goel are: –
85% seats to be reserved in the 28 Colleges, which are funded by the Delhi Government out of total 61 Colleges in Delhi University.
5% relaxation must be given on the cut off list to the students, who have passed Senior Secondary from Delhi in preference to students come from other States.
There should be an eligibility entrance test across colleges in Delhi University so that students, who resort to unfair practices such as corruption, cheating, represent false marksheet and other malpractices in order to get admission in Delhi University could be stopped.
Mr.Goel also said that there are 18 colleges in the University of Delhi which are 100% funded by Delhi Government. We must definitely keep 85% reservation for Delhi Students in these colleges. Colleges such as Delhi Technology University, NetajiSubhash Institute of Technology & Guru Gobind Singh IP University already have 85% reservation for Delhi Students.
ShriGoel also said that every State Government has its own Education Board. How can we compare these Boards with CBSE? One cannot expect same examination system and same marking systems in different Boards.
Mr. Goel further stated that it is very sad for the people, who are living in Delhi since many years & unable to admit their wards in Delhi University and are thus forced to admit their wards either in costly Private Colleges or have to send their wards outside Delhi for admission.
Mr. Goel also appealed to Mr. Sisodia that Delhi Government should open new universities & colleges & should also start Evening classes in already run Delhi Govt. colleges.
Mr. Goel said if required both he and Mr. Sisodia will meet Union Education Minister Smt. SmritiIrani for this cause for further discussing the issue.
Goel Demanded CBI Inquiry for addressing the Toppers Scandal Cheating issue
BJP MP Shri Vijay Goel has demanded CBI enquiry into the Large Scale Cheating & Toppers Scandal Issue in Bihar.
Mr. Goel has conveyed that resignation of the chairman Lakeshwar Prasad Singh of the Bihar School of Examination Board and a few others board representatives would not solve any problem, till the time we don’t get into the Root of the Issue and thus CBI enquiry is mandatory as Bihar has now become a hub of cheating in Examinations. It will help to restore the credibility of education system in Bihar and exposed the culprits.
Mr.Goel has also raised his concerns over the standard & Functioning of the Bihar School Examination Board. He wants all Government Schools in Bihar to get affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E), as C.B.S.E is rated highly and it conducts its examinations with dignity & honesty.
Shri Vijay Goel is also worried about the future of the Students who are working hard for their examinations and are given their exams with complete honestly but are still rallying behind the toppers who cheated in their exams. Thus, he demands for an Eligibility Examination for all Colleges of Delhi University, so that the meritorious Students get admission into the Delhi University Colleges based on their merit.
Mr. Goel said that on 11th June, 2016 he would be meeting Deputy Chief Minister & Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia to discuss the matter with him.In his Meeting with Mr.Sisodia, Mr. Goel would discuss the issue of 85% Reservation for Delhi Students in Colleges under the Government of Delhi, & also demand introduction of an Eligibility test across all courses in all colleges under the University of Delhi.
Mr. Goel also informed that on the 19th of June, Students of Delhi and their parentswill be invitedfor a big meeting at Mavlankar Hall, V.P House, Rafi Marg.He appeals to Delhi students and their parents to turn up in Large Numbers for the meeting in order for their voice to get heard.
‘Eligibility test’ may be held for admission in Delhi University on Merit basis to prevent mass cheating & copying in 12th Class Examination.
To address the rising issue of widespread cheating in 12th board examination across Bihar and other states to get admissions in Delhi University, Mr. Goel has questioned whether the students who have given their 12th board examination from Delhi will get justice or not.
Mr. Vijay Goel met Vice Chancellor Mr. YogeshTyagi yesterday and conveyed to him that it is the right time for Delhi University to take strict action against students who resort to false practices such as corruption, cheating, represent false marksheets and other malpractices in lieu of gaining admission in Delhi University. MrGoel also said that there should be a eligibility test across colleges in Delhi University which students need to pass in order to be eligible for admission in Delhi University so that students like Ruby Roy and SouravShreshtha can be kept out.
The Vice ChancellorYogeshTyagi, was open for debate in this matter.
Mr. Goel has said that different states have their own education boards, different courses and separate examination systems. These boards cannot be equated with Central Board of Secondary Education. In Some Boards liberal marking is adopted whereas in others stiff marking is done. For that purpose, the cut of list in Delhi University is also of no use.
Mr. Goel clarifies that a student may have been born in UP, Bihar, MP or Chhattisgarh but if she/he sat for 12th Board exams from Delhi, She/he would be considered a Delhi Student. He added ‘anyone who lives or studies in Delhi is a Delhite.
Mr. Goel has said that Delhi’s 18 colleges are directly funded by Delhi government. 85% seats of these colleges must go to Delhi students as in the case of these three institutions:
1.Delhi Technology University
2.NetajiSubhash Institute of Technology
3.Guru Govind Singh I.P. University
Presently entrance examinations can be held for some courses in Delhi University, then such an examination can be held for remaining courses also. It can helpdetecting students having fake mark sheets and fake degrees.
Presently 2,53,000 Delhi students passed the Delhi CBSE Exam. The Delhi University however has only 54,000 seats in 61 colleges to accommodate them and the breakup as follows
Total Seats 54000
General Category 26000
OBC/SC/ST 23000
Mr. Goel said that it is very painful for the citizens of Delhi that their children are not able to get admission in colleges and courses of their own choice and in their home State, in spite of getting more than 60% marks.
The question is that students of other states come to Delhi for better education and better colleges. Why don’t we open better colleges in other states including Bihar?
Mr. Goel demanded from Delhi Government to open new universities with new colleges in Delhi to meet the requirements of Delhi’s students with the request to start evening college in all the 18 colleges, which come under the Delhi Government. He said that in this regards soon a delegation will meet Education Minister Manish Sisodia.
