One year term is insufficient for Mayors, provision of Mayor-in-Council is required

With three posts of Mayors in MCDs, coming up for elections, Rajya Sabha MP and former Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel today expressed concern that  merely one year term for a Mayor is insufficient.  There is a need to relook at the terms of Mayors and  extend it to atleast a couple of years so that they have time to do something concrete.

Such problems have come up in the MCD due to flawed trifurcation of MCD done by Congress government . It is time to review the trifurcation also and see whether the objectives have been fulfilled or not, he added.
“ The trifurcation of MCDs has introduced many anomalies which is affecting the interest of the common people,” said Sh. Goel.

“There should have been a Mayor-in-Council. There has to be a mechanism which ensures close coordination between all three municipal bodies. A joint coordination committee of three MCDs  should be set-up.  None of this was taken into account as Congress government in Delhi implemented trifurcation in a hurry,” he added
At present a section of the top bureaucracy in all three municipal corporations of Delhi is derailing the efforts of the BJP councilors  to provide better quality services to Delhi’ites.

“The Commissioners in all three MCDs are appointed by Delhi government. There is an overwhelming concentration of powers in their hands while councilors, who are people’s representatives are left with no powers. This has led to a grave situation where sections of bureaucracy are calling shots and people’s representatives have been relegated to the background,” said Sh. Goel

“We all know that the MCD trifurcation was done from purely political point of view and the administrative aspects were ignored. The result is that we have cash strapped MCDs which are largely controlled by bureaucrats appointed by Delhi government, so they refuse to listen to the elected representatives. This must change at earliest,” said Sh. Goel

“ Our aim is to provide good governance and whatever needs to be done to ensure good governance, that would be done,” said Sh. Goel.

Goel lambasts Rahul for doublespeak; seek answers for inaction of Congress MPs and Govt

Rajya sabha MP, former Delhi BJP President and currently head of the Booth management Cell for Lok Sabha elections 2014, Sh. Vijay Goel today lambasted Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for shedding crocodile tears now after his party colleagues ruined Delhi during their 15 years rule.
Today Rahul Gandhi is addressing meeting in Delhi expressing his concern for Delhi. I would like to ask him five questions

·        Why didn’t his govt. bring the bill to give full statehood to Delhi?

·        All seven MPs of Delhi were from Congress, Does Sh. Rahul gandhi know that none of them have fully spent the MPLAD fund and infact around Rs 28 crore are lying unspent in this fund? What is his reaction to this “inefficiency” of his MPs?

·        Law and Order is in the jurisdiction of Union home Ministry. If Rahul is really concerned about Delhi, then what action he took on growth of crime against women by more than 500% over the last couple of years?

·        Why did Sheila Dikshit was rewarded with a Governor’s post even as there was clear evidence of corruption against him in Commonwealth games?

·        How many times Rahul raised issues related to Delhi in parliament? Is it not a fact that all

·        MPs of Congress failed to raise issues related to Delhi in parliament?

The fact of the matter is that Rahul Gandhi himself has attended only about 42% of the parliamentary sittings. He has hardly spoken on any issue within the parliament. In fact Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to speak on any issue related to Delhi.  He played an instrumental role in ensuring support to AAP by Congress which further ruined Delhi during its 49 days rule.

Sh. Goel challenged Congress leaders to come and have a debate on the issue of development in the Capital. “Ten years at the Centre and 15 years in Delhi government is more than enough to transform a city. But Congress did nothing and hence Delhi’ites today are suffering from lack of basic amenities. Especially the JJ clusters, unauthorized colonies and rural areas are in worst condition. The people are going to punish Congress for this. BJP is confident that with its positive agenda of development under leadership of Sh. Narendra Modi, it will win all seven seats in Delhi,” said Sh. Goel

Immoral AAP exposed by Judicial probe report on Bharati , Court notice against Kejriwal: Vijay Goel

Rajya Sabha MP and former president of Delhi BJP Sh. Vijay Goel  today said that the immoral  and illegal aspects of AAP’s functioning  stand fully exposed after  Somnath Bharati has been  found guilty by a judicial inquiry  in Khirki Extension case and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal  has become one of the accused after notices issued by the court in the defamation case  filed by BJP leader Sh. Nitin Gadkari.
“Why AAP is not taking any action against these two leaders for their criminal acts?  It is a party with fake morality and people are realising it. That is why common people duped by AAP leadership is revolting against it. Form   Gurgaon to  Mumbai,  AAP leadership is being accused by its own party workers of duping them.”
“ In fact there are more cases pending against top AAP leadership including Kejriwal and Bharati when they violated law  during the course of their political drama staged  near Rail Bhawan. I will soon meet the Union Home Minister and take up the cause of expediting these issues,” said Sh. Goel.
Sh. Goel said, “With every passing day , a new expose regarding AAP is coming out. Its Lok Sabha candidates like Anjalai Damanai and Mayank Gandhi are in dock for dubious deals. But the AAP leadership tries to divert the attention away from its own corruption by levelling wild charges against its critics.”
However now with the report of the judicial probe in Khirki Extension case clearly pointing fingers towards former minister Somnath Bharati’s role in this shameful incident, it is clear that AAP is an anti-women party.
It is clear that AAP promotes lawlessness by protecting, promoting and glorifying those who are law-breakers. Such parties are harbingers of anarchy and will be rejected by the people of Delhi and country.

Vijay Goel meets LG to push for ‘Single Window System’ of construction on plots upto 100m

Rajya Sabha MP and former Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel has urged the Delhi Lieutenant Governor Sh. Najeeb Jung to allow BJP ruled municipal Corporations to  create a ‘Single Window System’, wherein any resident, desirous of building on their land could do so by submitting the building plan which has been prepared and verified by an Independent Architect in compliance with the MCD rules / regulations along with an Affidavit.

Sh. Goel said, "I have written to LG that about two weeks ago,I had discussed the issue with   all three Mayors & Standing Committee Chapersons of the Municipal Corporations. They agreed that we should have a simpler system for granting permission for construction for plots upto 100 metres. Unlike the existing system in which residents have to get their drawings / plans pre-approved by the MCD before construction, the new system won't require such submission of plans."

Atleast 70% of Delhi resides in Houses which are situated on land measuring 100 meteres or less in size.

"It is felt, across the board, that there is a need to achieve a more transparent, easily accessible and people-friendly system, more in the nature of a ‘Single Window System’ for granting approvals to the lesser income group residents for carrying out construction on land measuring 100 metres," Said Sh. Goel in his letter to the LG.

"As the Municipal Corporations continues to strive and serve the people of Delhi, it will be a great gesture for the benefit of all residents falling in the bracket mentioned above, if the LG could allow Corporations to implement the ‘Single Window System’, This will ensure that the role of MCD would be limited, in that it would merely formulate the Guidelines with regard to the nature, type and manner of building, area that can be constructed etc. and thereafter, it would permit residents to carry out such construction without having to first seek approval of the Corporation.

It would be permissible for people to construct so long as they declare vide an Affidavit that the construction shall be in tandem with MCD’s building bye laws / rules / regulations and this fact is also supported by an Architect and his drawings.

Indeed, in the event it is found that a person has flouted the law / made wrong statements on oath by way of an Affidavit, the law would take it own course. It would be open to the MCD to demolish illegal structures in addition to taking any such measures as may be required under the law.

"I feel that such a policy intervention would be in the true interest of the people. It is my firm belief that gestures like this, will not only make MCD more accountable, check corruption and truly serve the people, but also will serve the aspirations and transform the dreams of people of the lower income group into reality," said Sh. Goel

Kejriwal protecting corrupt ministers, Bharati, Sisoda should go :Vijay Goel

The Delhi BJP's Poorvanchal Morcha held a demonstration at Delhi Secretariat today to protest AAP government's inaction on problems related to the Poorvanchali Community.
Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel who led the demonstration said while addressing the party workers,"AAP government is busier in breaking all constitutional norms rather than working for people. The way Janlokpal bill is being presented shows that AAP is least interested in removing corruption, its objective is to hog limelight."

"The way Janlokpal bill has been brought violating legislative norms doesn't augur well for democracy. Had Kejriwal been honest in his intentions he would have sacked his infamous ministers- Somnath Bharati and Manish Sisodia," he added.

The fact is that Kejriwal has failed to deliver on his party's promises. And now he is looking for an exit route and an excuse to justify his government's non-performance. That is why he has been trying desperately to create a constitutional crisis.

Sh. Goel said, ''The BJP will continue to expose AAP and will not rest till corrupt ministers are asked to go. We will not let Kejriwal and his ministers take law in their own hands. The BJP will ensure that constitutional framework is respected."

"The Poorvanchali community feels betrayed. No development work is being undertaken for them. They continue to struggle for jobs, housing and better amenities," said Sh. Vijay Bhagat, president, Poorvanchal Morcha of Delhi BJP

Kejriwal resorting to undemocratic tactics, BJP ready to debate Janlokpal, Swaraj bills : Vijay Goel

Thousands of people participated with great enthusiasm in the biggest tea party of Delhi 'Chai par Charcha' where 'Namo' tea was shared by them expressing all out support for BJP's PM candidate Sh. Narendra Modi.
"The party will organize such sessions in various parts of the city in days to come," said Delhi BJP President Sh. Vijay Goel addressing this event at Barah Tooti Chowk. "This even is a true reflection of the fact that the support for BJP and Sh. Modi cuts across caste, creed, religion and class lines."

Sh. Goel urged the BJP supporters to go to door to door to take the message that BJP's key focus is nation building and this will be done through good governance. The BJP ruled states have delivered on promises made by the party unlike many other political outfits who are more interested in creating problems than resolving it.

Sh. Goel said, "AAP government in Delhi is a classic case of running away from its responsibility. Arvind Kejriwal is threatening to resign over issue of Janlokpal as he has failed to deliver and with every passing day AAP-Congress alliance government and leaders are getting exposed."

Sh. Goel said, "The CM has not shared a draft of the Janlokpal and Swaraj bills with the BJP.Any important legislation needs to be discussed threadbare as it affects people of Delhi. But Kejriwal's attitude is undemocratic. He is not ready for debate on this. Instead of debating it he is threatening to resign. This is sheer political blackmail."

"AAP is showing disrespect to the constitutional framework. Kejriwal and his colleagues are not the only repository of wisdom. They is not following proper legislative procedures. BJP is ready to discuss and debate any legislation and support it also if it helps to improve life of people of Delhi. But Kejriwal just want to get the bills passed not allowing any deliberations on this."

"It is ironic that AAP is supported by corrupt Congress, two of its ministers are found to be indulging in corrupt and unethical practices and yet it is trying to take a moral high ground!"

Lakhs participated in Bijli Andolan, why bill waiver for only few? : Vijay Goel

The Delhi BJP  today said the announcement of Delhi government to waive off electricity bills of households.  At least Rs 6 crore burdens will be put on taxpayers and this money will actually come out of taxpayer who has been paying his or her bills. This is decision which is unfair to taxpaying, law abiding citizen.
“So many people had participated in Bijli Andolan which BJP ran for four years. Why only a select group of people have been chosen to give this waiver. If the CM wanted to give benefit to all those who fought against power companies then he should have included lakhs of other households also,” said Delhi BJP president Sh. Vijay Goel while launching the party’s week long Ek note-Kamal par Vote campaign.

The campaign was launched by Sh. Goel himself in Naveen Shahdra and East Delhi district units of BJP. Goel who met a large number of people and himself collected funds for party. “The campaign is being carried out at more than 11000 polling booths in the Capital. “We will reach every home and also take feedback about the problems faced by the people due to non-performance of AAP government as a part of this campaign,” said Sh. Goel.  BJP legisltor Sh. Jitendra Mahajan, district unit presidents of BJP from Naveen Shahdra and East Delhi and former MP Sh. Lal Bihari Tewri were also present on the occasion.

Sh. Goel said, “The AAP government is taking decisions ignoring the procedures and systems. That is why the announcements made by it are not getting translated into the relief to the common people.”

“The ad-hocism of AAP government and its double speak stands exposed today. AAP is promoting anarchy in the city. Every section of society is affected by the existing chaos but the Chief Minister and his colleagues are more bothered about creating controversies to hog limelight. Their focus is not welfare of the people but making political gains for the Lok Sabha polls.”

Kejriwal not giving priority to problems of Delhi’ites, raking up various issues for political mileage: Vijay Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Sh. Vijay Goel today lambasted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for ignoring problems related to people of Delhi and putting up a façade of honesty. He said that Kejriwal is least bothered about problems of people in Delhi, all his efforts are towards getting maximum political mileage through controversies in run up to Lok Sabha polls.
Addressing a party function to commemorate the death anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhya, one of the founding members of the party, Sh. Goel said,“If  the CM can order named FIRs in case of  Gas prices which appear to be beyond his jurisdiction,   what is stopping him from naming  former Congress Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and other Congress leaders in CWG scam case which is under Delhi government’s jurisdiction. Why an unnamed FIR has been filed in this case?” said Sh. Goel.

“Kejriwal is trying to put a façade of honesty when two of his ministers-Somnath Bharati and Manish Sisodia- are corrupt and indulge in unethical practices. Why is Kejriwal protecting them?,” said Sh. Goel.

“It is clear that Kejriwal is trying to divert attention of people away from the issues of governance as he has failed to deliver on this front. He should give priority to addressing problems of Delhi’ites instead of trying to play to the gallery on old and stale issues which are already in public domain.”

Sh. Goel said Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s life was simple and he dedicated his complete life to build up Bharatiya Jansangh which later became Bharatiya Janata Party. Despite living a selfless and simple life, he never boasted about it and worked silently towards nation-building. Some leaders today are wearing their ‘simplicity’ up their sleeve, they should learn from Pandit ji’s life.

Addressing the function, BJP national secretary Sh. Shyam Jaju said, “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s philosophy of integral humanism is a source of inspiration and guiding principle of millions of BJP cadres.  It is time that we work relentlessly to bring a clean, determined nationalist government to power under the Prime Ministership of Sh. Narendra Modi so that these ideals propagated by Pandit ji can be realised.”

Kejriwal is a “Rebel without cause”, he does not care about governance: Vijay Goel

he Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party  today slammed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for making empty promises to people from north-east and doing nothing on ground to enhance their safety  even as yet another minor girl from Manipur was raped in the city.
“It appears there is no law and order in the state. The Centre and Delhi government are busy fighting with each other with no one having either time or inclination to ensure safety of  an average Delhi’ite in the city,” said  Delhi BJP President Sh. Goel while addressing participants of a huge car rally  held in the city  to express support for BJP’s PM candidate Sh. Narendra Modi.

Sh. Goel also flagged off the rally which was organized by Delhi BJP’s Chartered Accountant cell. “There has been overwhelming support from all sections of society for Sh. Narendra Modi as witnessed in this  “Car Rally. Now  the Delhi BJP is organizing the biggest tea party ever held in history of Delhi. It will be attended by more than 10,000 people at 10 am  on 10 Februaryat Bara Tooti Chowk. All these events have one common message to convey to the voters about BJP’s philosophy- “Vikas Bhi, Imaan bhi, Garibon ka samman bhi.”

Sh. Goel said, “All of us are witnessing how people from north east are feeling harassed in the city.  Women are feeling increasingly unsafe.  But Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministerial colleagues have no time for such important matters.  What has AAP government done to check this spurt in crime?”

“No one is concerned about governance in the city.   The Congress-AAP alliance has pushed the city into a state of anarchy.  It is strange that while on one hand Congress is criticising the AAP and on the other hand it is supporting it. Why doesn’t it withdraw the support from AAP ?,” asked Sh. Goel.

Commenting on the latest developments on Janlokpal bill, Sh. Goel said, “Even Sh. Anna Hazare has clearly said in an interview to a newspaper published today that  the Janlokpal bill passed by  Centre is good enough and it has strong provisions for having Lokayuktas in state. Then why Kejriwal is pushing for his own version of Janlokpal.  It is clear that he is a rebel without cause and does not want to focus on key governance issues.”

Probe in CWG scams an eyewash as no Cong. Leaders named in FIR: Vijay Goel

The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Sh. Vijay Goel today termed the move to register an FIR in CWG corruption as an eyewash as no Congress leader has been named in the FIR. Sh. Goel  also demanded that AAP should come out openly and let the people know its action plan to handle the power crisis in the Capital.
“AAP is taking decisions behind closed doors. It should come out openly and answer the following questions:

In case license of present Discoms is cancelled, will any other company be immediately in a position to take over the power supply?
On what rates a new power supply company will provide power to the consumers?
What will be the cost of hiring a new company and how much will be burden on the exchequer?
What is AAP doing to end monopoly in power supply? Why it is not inviting more than one power companies through open bidding?
If NTPC stops supplying power to the BSES in Delhi, what is the government’s back plan to ensure that there is uninterrupted power supply?
Why 50% reduction in power tariff is not getting reflected in power bills?
What is AAP doing to rollback the recent hike of 8% in power tariff?
“There is complete non-transparency in the way AAP government is handling power crisis. There seems to be no backup plan with the government for handling the immediate power crisis. We are warning the CM and its ministers that it should immediately come out with its action plan on power sector,” said Sh. Goel.

“The crisis witnessed in the power sector is the result of lack of administrative seriousness in this government. It also appears that another political drama is being played out by AAP without caring for the problems faced by common people,” said Sh. Goel.

On the issue of corruption also, the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal continues to protect the corrupt.  Sh. Goel said, “The BJP had handed over the evidence of involvement of Congress leaders in the CWG scams. It has been consistently demanding registering of cases against former Chief Minister Smt Sheila Dikshit and other Congress ministers and leaders for the widespread corruption in CWG games. But it is surprising that AAP government has not named even a single Congress leader in the FIR.”

“Had the AAP government really been serious about nailing the corrupt for corruption in the CWG, it would have named them in the FIRs. But it is clear now that Kejriwal is protecting the corrupt in Congress in lieu of the support it has got to run his government,” said  Sh. Goel.

Sh. Goel reiterated that the BJP wants AAP ministers Somnath Bharti and Manish Sisodaia to be dismissed as they have found to be indulging in corrupt and unethical practices. The BJP will continue to hold protests and agitations till these two ministers are dismissed, said Sh. Goel.
